So Japan Expo (and possibly, Comic Con Paris, if they’re still doing it at the same time) started today, which means triple the amount of people we usually get in the train, which means I get to be sweaty and gross from 9am onward instead of feeling vaguely human for most of the day.

To make myself feel better, I decided to make a little list of the things I saw that made me smile and made the heat & journey more bearable:

• A girl in an Adventure Time patterned skirt


• One kid with a ‘Gratuit Hug Desu’ homemade sign


• Four barbarian cosplayers who howled at each other when they met on the platform


• Required Sailor Moon cosplay


• At least three persons in full body Pikachu PJs


• One neat House Stark T-shirt


• One pretty good Attack on Titan cosplay


• The look of vaguely scared confusion on the faces of people who have no idea what’s going on or why all those kids dressed up in such a bizarre way.
