Thesis update

Okay, the HP part of the thesis is ended! (Well, I’m only at 2007 but let’s face it, the really crazy shit of the HP fandom mostly happened during the 3YS, after that things got a lot tamer despite the recent Pottermore mess)

And the nice thing is, Iwasn’t sure how I was going to transition into the history of AO3 but actually the thing pretty much wrote itself :P

Prep Process - The Immortal Cup: Religion and traditions (#2)

Alright, I’m cheating a liiiiittle bit for this one because I have an entire tag dedicated to Nephilim culture on my personal blog (most of which will probably be canon in TIC, and also I should probably reblog some of them here. Ahem.) but this is still something I’d like to develop a little because, wel, that’s what gives flavor to the whole thing.

I thing the biggest challenges I’m going to have to face is that what I’m creating will essentually be three cultures in one: one for civilian nephilim, one for the Shadowhunters who live in Idris, and one for the Shadowhunters who live outside of Idris (aka the Outer Rim, as of the seventies. There was a Star Wars fan and the name took off.) and these cultures need to be distinct so they can show the disconnect between the various categories of the population but also related to explain why things haven’t exposed yet.

Not to mention of course, that there’s the part where I’ll need to figure out which parts of her culture Jocelyn manage to incorporate in her mundane life and which parts she had to leave behind, but that’s a topic for another post I think.
