(Re) migration complete!

I'm really glad I did most of that work a couple years ago after losing my tumblr and having to start from scratch, because things would have been even more of a hassle otherwise!
In chosing the personal posts I wanted to archive here, though, I realized that I share
felicitygs ' feeling about DW, which is that having a more classical/fancier website to blog in makes it feel like I should use it for... you know, real blogging. Of course, there's no such thing as this but still, it's strange to see what the format of something does to how you feel like you should use it.
On tumblr, I've never had a problem with making two sentences posts, here, I feel like they should probably be longer than that. I don't know how I'll deal with it yet, but it's an interesting thing to notice, I suppose.
I do think there are chances I'll use this account more this time around, now that there's a new influx of people (of course, we can't know how long it'll last, but I guess being active in the beginning can't hurt) and also because, now that more people who know me irl are finding my blog, I'm getting interested in the access list feature because there are definitely people I know irl whom I don't want to read my blog so... that's useful.
Anyway, the migration is complete again and I'm hoping to be more active here. It'll take effort, honestly, to go from the passivity of Tumblr (for me, at least) and having to be active here if I want anything to happen, but hey, maybe it'll motivate me to create again!

Date: 2018-12-11 03:59 am (UTC)Oh, out of curiosity, since I linked to you in this post--did you get any kind of special notification (tumblr style) or was it only the regular subscription thing?
Also good luck with your own migration process! :D

Date: 2018-12-11 07:09 am (UTC)Haha, yeah that would be a nice feature to have, but I guess that's in keeping with the spirit of DW and early LJ where the principle was to have your own space and only interact with the people you actively want to interact with which is... well, on the one hand the notification thing when mentioned is convenient, but on the other hand I was semi-complaining about my passivity re: fandom on tumblr, and this is an efficient motivation (so far) to be more proactive with people so there's that xD
