What do u think of Sansa and Tyrion?

I’m not sure if you mean individually or together tbh, so I’m going to try and do both :D

One thing I like about them is that they’re both in a terribly difficult position (Tyrion because people, especially his family, keep punishing him for his dwarfism (which is completely out of his control) and Sansa because she’s being held hostage in an incredibly volatile environment) but they both manage to display a lot of personal strength and find ways to protect themselves and survive however they can which, inmy opinion, is really admirable.

(NB: I’m not denying some of Tyrion’s attitudes aren’t questionnable. The way he treats women, in particular, is rather dubious, even though there are reasons behind it. Still, like Sansa, he does what he can with what he has.)

 

As far as their relationship is concerned, I also want to say that I don’t ship them romantically, and I also get that there was no way they’d end up BFFs in canon because, well, the Lannisters have made Sansa’s life a nightmare, and Tyrion may hate his immediate family but he’s the most Lannister of all his siblings and he still works to maintain the Lannisters’ name and power at the top.

But I think they’re similar i many ways, and if they could have moved past the obstacles I mentionned above they would have been really good for each other I think. Sansa would have learned how to navigate the politicall shark pool, and Tyrion would have gotten a friend who respected him and treated him like a person, not like an error of nature which, I think we can all agree, would have been extremely beneficial for him.

Idk it’s one of those situations that can never happen in canon but I would love to see in fic (I saw it once in a modern AU fic series, but idk if said fic is still up on AO3) because i think it has a really neat potential.
