Episode 04: Raising Hell

So this episode was painful.

I mean, I’m of the opinion that the source material is bad and the show so far hasn’t done much to make it better—in fact, some of the changes they’ve made to the storyline and worldbuilding have actually made things worse—so I’m not particularly surprised. Still, it’s never a good experience to be faced with bad writing and generally offensive stereotypes.

On the menu this week: sexism, magical racism, guys being assholes, logic fails, and the the arrival of my personal hell aka: “It’s Painfully Obvious This Show Was Written By Straight People.”

If you’re still wondering if that means homophobic tropes the answer is, unfortunately—but also unsurprisingly—yes.
