(no subject)

So I was thinking about TIC while I was getting a baguette earlier today and I’m…kind of worried about the racebending aspects of it–namely the fact that none of my characters of color are going to be human in there which I’m afraid could have unfortunate implications :/

I’m not worried about the good/bad dichotomy because I’ve got good guys and bad guys of color, and I’m not too worried about the ‘human emotions’ part because I know emotionless is very much not what I’m going for (I know the part where Clary is often angry will be tricky but I think I’ve got that covered bc people will respect her anger so the Angry Black Woman trope shouldn’t come in play, hopefully)…it’s mostly the non-human part I’m worried about.

I mean, like I said, I’m certainly not doing this rewrite to offend (quite the contrary) for one, and for seconds I’ve criticized canon (both books and TV show) about its dubious choices regarding racial make up enough to at least try not hit the same pitfalls, right? So…yeah. I think on the micro scale I should be okay for the most part, but I’m still worried I’ll kind of mess up on the macro scale of things tbh :/
