Cylons and Daemons: Part 2

Honestly the question of Cylons and daemons is such a fascinating one though.

Assuming Cylons develop a soul/the part of a soul that they need to have a daemon, through experience (since that’s my favorite theory) and considering that Cylons are a culture 100% based on unity and, what’s more (relative) uniformity, one would think that having a daemon would be considered a failure for any agent, hence the need to hide the daemon at least from the public eye (but then that would be visible in the subject’s demeanor too).

Also, in this theory the self is constructed through experience which would mean that the Cylons would originaly develop unsettled daemons despite their adult looks. So at first it would be easy enough to hide a daemon (keep them as a bug or a small animal and they can be concealed under your clothes) but what about when it settles?

I imagine that would be a death sentence for a Cylon among their peers but then again, you can’t keep killing those who get a daemon because eventually people are going to develop them whatever you do so the postition is unsustainable.

 

Meanwhile on Galactica, what about the moment Sharon reveals/develops her daemon? What does it change in Roslin’s behavior and decisions? And what about when Hera is born, what if she has a daemon then? Does it convince Roslin and Adama to give her a chance or does it freak them out into doing worse than faking her death?

I’m just. really liking that concept tbh.
