I’ll never not be apalled by the number of time I hear of and from people trying to to get into old, household-names fandoms and be greeted by the worst fucking kind of gatekeeping and douchnozzles acting like you have to read all four millions books ever produced in canon (plus the three billion of essays, fanworks etc) or your opinion doesn’t count like

I’m just flabbergasted that anyone could be that rude, for one, and also i’m really, really grateful that I’ve rarely (if at all) had to deal with rude people in my time in fandom tbh I’m just what the hell -_-
