Ineffable!

Also known as: things I’m indulging in worldbuilding/plotting for while knowing there’s less than 10% chances of me ever actually writing them:

One BSG x Pride & Prejudice AU fusion in which Kara is Elizabeth, Lee is Darcy and Helo is Wickham. I have all the cast sorted out, and a fairly decent outline of a plot (then again, I did read P&P three times in a row last summer) as well as appropriate plot modifications for Helo’s role. And I have some ideas for the worldbuilding. ( T_____T)

The whole BSG and Daemons AU thing, in which I want to figure out Kara’s Daemon but the way her story end kind of threw my earlier speculations to the wind. (Dee’s is most likely an Owl, but I have yet to think about that)

The one where Kara is a reincarnate Charles Xavier, Lee is Erik, and their passage on Kobol/the events from the end of Maelstrom unlock Kara’s memories of her life as Charles (as well as her telepathy powers) which in turn ends up reawakening Lee’s memories as Erik (& his powers) and things kind of grow from there

So I don’t know if this is really a trope but

You know how in stories of people stranded alone in hostile environments there’s often this miraculous stranger who helps them get back to safety/rescue point, and then it turns out that they can’t possibly have been real?

 

Well I just have this image of Kara Thrace stuck into some kind of dire situation suddenly seeing Saul Tigh sneering at her and knowing full well that he can’t possibly be there

Cue three days of Kara making her way back to the fleet/a rescue point while wondering why out of all the fracking motherfrackers in her motherfracking life her fracking brain had to conjure up this one specifically

And then she gets rescued out of spite

I want to do a holiday fic but also I want to talk about how to translate Hogwarts in the SW universe because okay, yes, you could just have the one castle on one planet or another but that would be so boring tbh

So I’m thinking maybe something more of a Jedi-like school, but instead of being stuck on a planet maybe it’s a giant spaceship. Maybe it’s a mini-fleet or something. I’m kind of imagining Sillage-style spherical vessels where people are actually able to se space through the walls.

Children are taught various uses of the force, with mandatory philosophy and ethics classes, and school debates are an important activity. There are P.E. classes and Manual Labor classes, where the Padawans have to go about their work like normal people just to remind them that they can.

 

The staff is made exclusively of people who aren’t Sensitive to the Force, and instead of living in house quarters, the kids would be lodged in one of the families and living with them, maybe. So they don’t lose touch with what life’s like for people who aren’t Force Sensitive.

Maybe Owen adn Beru live there, and Luke and Leia have to help them–maybe in a Tatooine-like climate (maybe the authorities of the school think harsher climates makes more resourceful people, or maybe they try to accomodate the staff and give them houses that are close to their home world)

 

I mean seriously. think of the challenge
